Whispers of a Putrile

I was hunting for lice in that huge tree which sprawls out across a small island covered in giant gems and stones, when who should come along but that ageless fox. Naturally, I met her with courteousness and polite conversation, but oh! She had to go and make the whole thing into a comment competition. Still, what should I expect from one of her kind? Their brains swallow their tongues for thought that they gather wisdom with time.
I can't say that I didn't have fun though. She is amusing.
More amusing still was a... peculiar creature calling himself "Monte", who enjoys the taste of poison and seems able to change shape...? I can safely say, that I have never met an individual more bizarre.
A fellow called "Enoki" gave a greeting today before he took off. He is quite a large creature... I'm not sure that I want to be caught between his fearsome, scaly claws.

Well, my journal, quite a predicament we've stumbled into, eh?
This land is full of magic, very exciting, but very dangerous also. I can't remember how far we've walked, but I doubt we'll be seeing any fellow putrile around for a while.
Unless of course, that putrile turns out to be one of the kitsune. Yes, that's right, I found one of those ageless foxes today. She's interesting, I'm sure it'd be nice to have a little fun with her, except there could possibly be a very slight chance that she would beat me at my own game.
A slight chance, of course. Nothing to worry about, my dear journal.
I found a little ginger morsel today too, a fascinating creature with a smell of charcoal, the wings of a bird and the form of a cat. I managed to... persuade her into a game of Dare, at her own expense, naturally.
She's probably vomiting into a hole as I write.
Oh but I regret to admit I feel a little bad. Honestly, I just wanted to see whether my hypothesis regarding the toxicity of my own flesh was true. I couldn't stay for the results however, the previously mentioned kitsune was starting to unnerve me.
Eh... maybe I'll apologise to the little kitty if I see her again.
Ha ha... no, you're right. That's ridiculous.

It's something either lucky, or rather unlucky. I found kitty again today, by the base of a huge, old tree. She seemed a little ill, I have no doubts as to why. The funny thing is - she trusts me wholly. It's... bizarre to say the least. Even if she suspects that I poisoned her, which I did, she seems the type to forgive and forget. A dangerous frame of mind to say the least, I might as well have tried to assassinate her.
It's a shame to admit, but that is what you're here for, isn't it journal? I think little orange kitty has struck a chord with me. Just a little note, perhaps I'm just feeling a little weary after all of the travelling. She isn't entirely loathsome.
On the other hand, I happened across the ageless again. She mentioned here name - Iru. There's something about that old fox I don't like, simply put. She has me on the edge of a knife. Perhaps I'm just being prejudice, considering my past with ageless.
Either way, I hope to see both of them again soon. I've taken considerable comfort in toying with them.
