"Just because I am cold hearted does not mean I am cruel... Though that does not imply to her."
The bio of Duapolarisia.
------------------------------------------------
Name : Pola and Frejalisia.
Gender : Female.
Age : 59 and 612.
Race : Articolaria.
-------------------------------------------------
Personality :
Pola, out of the two creatures, is the kinder of the two. Calm and collected she is mostly seen reading her book given to her by Frejalisia. In most cases she will persuade her way out of a fight; whether by wit or by show of power, for good reason. Albeit the creature does not care for what happens due to her passiveness she will avoid any violence to prevent Frejalisia from awaking. The creature could care less for a realm being taken but will do all she can to prevent the witch from controlling her once more.
Frejalisia, the second of the souls inhabiting the body, is the least tame of the two. The witch of the north is not known for her serene personality. Having turned a desert into a frozen wasteland she is widely known for her spontaneous actions and 'cold' deeds. Freja always seeks a fight to sate her boredom, knowing well if she does not get her fix of battle she will do something drastic. Freja, while released, is more outwards and open than Pola, not caring for her actions she will do as she pleases. After all, is there such a thing as a Queen that does not do what she pleases?
Their race :
Pola and Freja are both creatures of the same species. They both say their species name translate to 'arctic-claws' but who knows if that is the reality of such. Their tribe are a secluded kind and live far north in snowy, secluded locations as they're body cannot handle extreme heat or humid temperatures.
Native snow and ice creatures they learn to form their homes and buildings by controlling magic in their habitat and form them easily to suit their needs. Usually Pola's kind will create tall, nearly impenetrable structures to allow the bird-like creatures to fly around in the sky to have a clear view of the ground beneath them and to protect themselves from hostile creatures.
Should the creatures ever be caught in a hostile situation with another creature Pola's kind will nearly all the time construct an icy dome over themselves to protect themselves from most attacks. Born as passive creatures it is rare some will fight back...
Being a secluded kind and raised learning that leaving the tribe will bring misfortune means that all arctic-claws will stay within territory grounds to prevent harm and misfortune. After all, why should one leave the comforts of their home if the outside world is told to be nothing but dangerous?
Her story
"I am all you have, jeune, tell me your story." the witch said to Pola, her voice echoing in her mind. "Think of me as your diary, you can say anything to me and I wont think nothing of you. No one else will listen to you so let me comfort you..."
It took Pola a minute to collect her thoughts, trying to resist the witch's urge.. but failing. She had no one else to go so the one being closest to her was her only source of comfort, her only friend to keep her company in this frozen wasteland.
"I was sleeping..." Pola began, "It was the coldest day the tribe had ever lived through and was going to be the deadliest due to the cold winds and snow blowing through the arctic land. Fros'gar had supposedly found Glas'gar dead, outside our 'to-be' village we were building, due to how cold it was. And you know how we are highly resistant to cold, it shocked us.. Everyone was building their sky-nests, our homes, rather quickly . Neig'gar was building our nest quite efficiently as he was one of the strongest males in the tribe."
"Ohh, our nest hrm? Was he with you affectionately?" Freya asked.
"He.. was. When he was building 'our' nest he told me I.. I couldn't go inside because he had to shelter his family and himself first over me.. He said there wasn't enough space in the nest... It tore me. He left me on the ground to be caught by the blizzard while he was in his nest hundreds of meters high in the sky.. I tried to build my nest but I couldn't.. I was never good at using the magic that ran through my tribe so I always relied on Neig'gar to build nests or catch prey.
I wanted to ask the others if they would take me in but I knew they would say no.. Nearly everyone in the tribe looked down at me due to my lack of magical prowess; understandable. We're a magically strong race and yet I could not even make a simply high enough nest to avoid the blizzard..."
"So how did you sleep then?" Freya asked knowing well the answer, but she just wanted Pola to keep talking.
"I didn't really sleep. I just.. I just made a small dome of a nest and rested inside of it to keep myself comfort, waiting for the blizzard to pass by, then, that's when it struck... I felt the chilling winds upon my feathers, quickly frosting my wings until they were barely able to move, my talons freezing as they were so I could no move them. I was almost paralyzed, then, I fell asleep; unconscious." she corrects.
"Then, when I was sleeping, I had a dream. It was the vision you showed me..." Pola said, a tone of displeasure in her voice. "The ice-crystal cavern.. The spires of ice as reflective as mirrors.. how it was beautiful. It was the perfect temperature of cold inside the cave. I loved it..."
"It was then that I woke up to see my wings and talons no longer frozen. Also to see the blizzard was no longer moving against me it was moving around me, perfectly avoiding me so I was not freezing to death. The blizzard was so thick I could not even see the bases of the nests but I did not focus on that, m attention was quickly caught by the blizzard shifting around to create a path, leading me somewhere, but still trapping me as the winds were blowing beside me like a wall.."
"I don't know how long I walked but I soon found the cave.. the very same cave from my dreams. Oh how it was more beautiful in person. The very surface beneath me reflected my own image as if it were a mirror. The walls and spires of ice as reflective; I saw my image everywhere I looked. I couldn't help but smile, it was all so beautiful. I ventured deeper into the cave to see a giant spire of ice with odd etchings into it as if it were magically inscribed. I approached it, looking at it in awe only to see the etchings change into the language of my people. "Beware," it read, "prison of the ice witch. Do not make contact." it said. I.. I wanted to turn back because of what I read but it was so beautiful, the spire of ice, it was perfect.
"It was then I heard you call out to me..."
"Hello jeune." freya said within her thoughts, saying what she had said to Pola at that time. "You poor, poor thing being abandoned by your family and left to die in a blizzard; I weep for you."
"Your voice was so elegant, vibrating and echoing against the ice so softly it was unlike something I heard before. 'They do not care for me.. I do not have magic strong enough to keep up with my tribe's people.' I said to you."
"Oh, dear, every life is valuable. I do not see why they abandoned you. Such beauty I could not possibly fathom a reason why they would leave you to die" Freya replied with,
"Because my magic is weak, I admitted to you... My worst decision."
Freya laughed a little and continued on with the charade, "Oh my.. Forget magic, what about this beauty? I myself am jealous." Freya said.
The spire of ice that spoke to Pola gained a new shine and reflected Pola's image, except this image moved on its own and raised a paw and held it up against the icy surface as if wanted to touch Pola on the other side. Pola, distracted by Freya's words and the environment, raised a paw and made contact with the icy spire, raising a paw to touch her reflection's.
"It was then you tricked me... I woke up to see the sky-nests in my village had fallen and shattered, broken all around me. The creatures in my tribe were all trapped in ice or.. impaled by spears of them.. You killed them all..."
"I did not kill them child, you did. All they saw was you returning to the village after several days. you destroying all the sky-nests, and YOU beginning your murder spree. You surrounded the village in a blizzard and began to kill them all one by one... 'Please stop, you're scaring me.' the children said before you killed them all one by one with spears of ice... Do not blame me for killing them. I simply gave you my powers, you did the deed, jeune."
Pola was now crying at the recollection of what she had done to her tribe, what she did to every being there was, she was now as bad as the witch that lived within her.
"People will believe you to be a murderer and will cast you out. I am sorry to say dear but I am all you have for company..."
