//sob [[ just thought I'd leave a quick response here because I never seem to be online in time for the in-game roleplays... I know this was posted awhile ago but I guess if anyone wants to revive this thread then, like the title says, join right in?? ]]
Quiver clutched the few belongings he had been able to keep a hold of in his talons as if his life depended on it. Sure, he hadn't a clue what use a decade old notepad and a torn up, tea-stained map of his homeland would be to him now... in a foreign land such as this, but at least it was something. Or so he kept assuring himself.
Below the stone pillar the massive avian had perched himself on, there seemed to be nothing but endless acres of trees. And dirt. More trees. Quiver sighed. Now what? He thought, amber eyes flashing with confusion. He had gotten there, and apparently that was meant to be the challenging part. Before waiting for a better plan of action to come to mind, Quiver did what rocs do best -- screech. In a matter of two seconds, the once tranquil community of the strange land was interrupted by his even stranger racket...
"HrrAAAIGH! Hrr, hrr HRREEGH!"
[[ I literally just remembered how much I suck at starting. sosorry. Where did all my creativity go??]]

The mild waves in the air were considered pleasant by most, but not to Icetooth. It caused the skin beneath his fur to complain, to itch and sweat. Icetooth dragged his paws along the ground in slow, aching arches, gradually making his way towards an invisible goal. The white cat's eyelids were pulled by gravity, the nerves in his face fought away sleep.
In the middle of a step, while Icetooth's mind was gnawing on his body's complaints, a sound shattered his thoughts. An ear-piercing, wailing ribbon of voice shocked the air, the subtle earth's silence was stabbed by the bird-like shriek. A sharp, cold feeling slid its way along the panther's belly and into his throat, his short fur stood, paws frozen in place.
A few minutes of reeling possibilities crossed Icetooth's thoughts while he stood like a dead rock. His only movements came from his ears, which twitched and rotated towards the sounds of the world around. The panther sniffed. He caught up his courage in his stomach. Then he started to walk again, eyes on everything.

Swordwind settled in her nest, cozy as can be. Yet she felt something was wrong, so she flew out and looked around.((Not the most literate. XD))

His ears quickly switched behind his furry black head. A startling noise echoed in his head. With a start, he let his crown fall to its orgininal place, like a rock. Ears still twitching, he followed a renewed progress of digging in the small dirt ditch. He cautiously glanced at the river. The constant waving motion of the body of water made him nausiated. His only comfort was that it was a few miles away from him.
Monte slid back and kept digging his little trench infront of a tree. Sweat beaded on his long, short furred ears. All the sweat emmited at other places, they quickly were soaked up by his fluffy pelt. His fur was sagging to the floor, giving him an appearance of a shiztu.. well a Feline Shiztu. He had to keep working. He didn't dare to go swim to escape the heat
I guess Ill meet IceTooth in Forums (I think)

Sitting in his laboratory-well, it wasn't actually his per say, but he was really the only scientist who used the public science building in South Oak, so he unofficially claimed it. The dryphon was busily scurrying through his papers, attempting a study on dragon scales and their properties. He had a few of his own; some of his dragon friend, Lady Asha; and a few other participants who gladly offered up their recently shedded scales.
He paid no attention to the screams, which he assumed was just some baby gryphons playing. Yes, they sounded pretty much like small terrors, and the male was quite used to his neighbors' broods making a fuss. Grumbling, he continued his research, all the while searching for some ear plugs he had stashed away for circumstances like this.
Nyeh, due to m'fantabulous life, I must sadly roleplay from the site. xD See ye soon lovelies! <3

Sharah walked Long, she was exploring her nearby neighbors .Hotarus domain was by the First realm. She glanced about curiously and winced hearing something. She looked up seeing a large oak ,"I'll take this as a challenge!" She mewed with s chuckle unsheathing her claws and climbing up the ridges in the tree and peering in,"Hello Enoki!" she mewed surprisedly, pulling herself in,"Ooh laboratory, Pan would love it in here!" She stated as she explored the contents. She paused,"Noisy neighbors ."

Monte's cranium slowly peeked over the edge of his hole. A bluish white creature was a mile away. His ears flattened against his head as his crown quietly ducked to the floor, and then sprung up and out of the hole, narrowly missing a thick tree. Slowly, he pawed away before laying under a tree. He could almost pant, but the tongue of his would flop around.
Lifting his cranium as high as it would go in his position, the brute flared his ears and started loudly whistling. Each long whistle was followed by three quick whistles and a chirp. After a few minutes doing this, he rested his head down on his paws. After a few moments, he decided the hole might protect him from the warm wind.

Quiver hissed out of both frustration and dismay... There were only echos to be heard in response to his squawks for help. 'I can't sit here and scream forever...' He thought, sighing once more. 'But I can scream somewhat more productively from the sky instead!'
The roc dug his talons into the objects in his talons. With a small yelp of regret, he flung himself into the thick, humid air. His wings flapped shakily and slightly hesitantly, the warm wind of the fertile land seeping through his feathers and clearing his mind - which was the primary reason he had left his birthplace to begin with. Maybe things wouldn't be so bad after all... He just had to make sure he wasn't the only intelligent creature in the realm first. Quiv didn't plan on starting any vast social groups, but, then again, if he needed 'assistance' of some sort..
"HrrEEEEEEEAAagh! HrrRRAAAAAk!"
This time he was positive even the next realm over would be able to hear him. Unless everyone over there was deaf. But he figured that was unlikely. If that god-awful racket wasn't terrible enough, the sight of a gigantic avian - larger than most dragons where he came from - gliding across the skies and causing gusts of wind to practically blow over all the plant-life was bound to raise some questions.
((ugh quiv y u so disruptive
Actually, now that I think about it, all my characters are extremely annoying/disruptive. //cri))

Was the first noise loud enough? He soon got his answer as a second screech filled the air. His big fluffy ears rang from the noise and he shrieked, a loud, terrible whistle. He then dove toward the ground in his hole, implanting his head and ears as far as they would go. Even if his fur was splayed against the top of his cranium, he hid his head for a few moments before peeking into the sky. Instantly, the brute regretted it and in panic, dug a small tunnel in the side of his now large hole. Stuffing himself in the hole in the wall, he waited silently for a sign that the large Avian had left.

Ice's nerves were shot with shivers at the second screech. His ears shrank backwards against his head in a display of cowardice, but the panther was paused mid-step. He didn't dare to look into the sky - the gales of beating wings overhead was enough to terrify the cat.
Icetooth's fangs chattered against a colourless candy cane, the only sign of movement on his frame. The cold panther remained motionless, his mind empty.

Pan walked along, hearing the screaching he frowned. The cyborg then raced over a hill and leaped to a tree, magnifying his voice he yowled,"WHY ARE YOU SCREAMING!" He clung to the tree with his claws as he starred up at the faint bird in the sky.

"hrEE--" Before he could let out another ear-splitting call, his feathered body slammed into bark, pineneedles... and something else. Hearing the frustrated yowl of another creature - of some sort - he recoiled as swiftly as he could, beating his wings just as sloppily as before. "Terribly sorry!" Came Quiver's mildly startled squawk.
Oh well.. at least he found someone who looked at least somewhat similar to the creatures he had been used to seeing every waking moment. Somewhat.
My shortest post yet. whooops))

Deciding to peek out, he was just in time to see that giant Avian crash into a pine tree. Monte ducked his head and chuckled into his paw. What a sight! But then the sound came, and he flopped down onto the floor, Ears flat and bristling. Monte slid back up and whistled at the creature loudly before sticking out his huge tounge and flopping back into his hole.

After a steady minute of collecting his senses, Icetooth convinced himself to move. He stalked across the leaved ground, careful of any noise or whisper of nature. After walking for a while, his demeanour weakened and the anxiety faded. Although the warmth in the air made him uncomfortable, the panther soon returned to a normal state... until his mind was shot once again with a sudden lunge.
Icetooth found himself tumbling in a spiral of colour, then he stopped, head on the floor, feet sprawled out below him gracelessly.
"Oww..." He mewed. The remnant of a broken candy cane stuck in his mouth like a stumped limb, remains of the sweet scattered where he had fallen. Ice turned his neck over the shoulder to see what had tripped him. Something of a hole in the ground.
